On March 21st, 2025, the final evaluation meeting of the European-funded WalkingBus project took place in Alghero, Italy, bringing together 8 participants from Greece, Türkiye, and Italy. Hosted at the welcoming venue Red Donkey, the event marked the culmination of a meaningful collaboration aimed at promoting sustainable and safe home-school mobility for children.
The day opened with a warm welcome coffee, setting the tone for a constructive and engaging agenda. The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) kicked off the proceedings with a comprehensive overview of the project’s objectives and initial expectations. This was followed by a collective presentation of the project’s main deliverables and achievements, where each partner shared insights from their local implementations.
A crucial moment of the meeting was the joint finalization of the project’s outputs, ensuring their coherence and readiness for dissemination. MVNGO led the session on impact and communication, showcasing the results of outreach activities and the project’s influence on local communities.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to evaluation and sustainability. AUTh guided the partners through the requirements for the final report, while MVNGO led the discussion on long-term impact and stakeholder engagement. The day concluded with an open dialogue on future cooperation opportunities.
The meeting was not only a moment of closure but also a celebration of shared achievements and mutual learning, laying the groundwork for continued collaboration in promoting green mobility for the next generations.
